# Module 1: Introduction

Before we start, we suggest you brainstorm/reflect on what is meant by distance learning and its associated terms by trying to answer the following questions:

* What is distance learning?
* Are there other similar terms, which ones?
* Is it a new term?
* What are its advantages and disadvantages?
* How has distance learning been implemented?
